Legalistic Christianity Is Out of Balance

Pride is so much worse than silly authoritarian issues and sadly, it creeps in so easily, especially when we start being proud of ourselves for not doing this or that. Hypocritical pride is an offense to our Holy God. It repels the lost while showing God’s love, mercy and grace (with the Holy Spirit’s leading) attracts them!

Many of us who once followed legalism, have learned by our mistakes even though they were made while earnestly trying to follow our Lord! Especially after a personal failure we see how feeble is any attempt to be holy apart from God!

Pride is a hidden sin. Pride is often easier seen by others than it is seen by one’s self. Becoming Pharisaical does not happen instantly. We become like the Pharisees when we start feeling superior to others for any reason.

Could it be that such a hidden sin only comes to light when we experience an obvious fall? Ah, but the Bible tells us that pride goes before a fall so such a fall is then inevitable. We need to fear pride as much as we fear committing adultery or whatever we consider to be “big” sins. Pride is as wicked as any sin!

When we experience an obvious outward failure and are deeply convicted by the Holy Spirit of God, we find ourselves crying out desperately; “Oh God – be merciful to me, a sinner!” It is then that we are instantly restored! It is also when we become fearful of doing anything that could possibly lead us back to the hog pen from which we were delivered! Pride is instantly transformed into shame of sin and gratitude to our Savior for His forgiveness and His transforming power! Gone is any pride for living right.

It is far better to guard our hearts and weed out pride before we fall. Stay close to God’s Word and pray without ceasing. Be sensitive to God’s Holy Spirit!

Legalism has been conquered by grace and grace instills a deep aversion to anything ungodly, which produces a higher way of living without pride. A balanced Christian life devoid of pride is the result.

Search For Balance

Maybe you have noticed a rapid decline in morality in the world today. Everything is out of balance! People are so confused about the most basic aspects of life.

Women have lost sight of what it means to be a woman.

Men have lost sight of what it means to be a man.

People have become so confused they don’t know if they are male or female!

Today we have mass CONFUSION!

People have turned away from God and righteousness! Everyone is doing what is right in their own eyes. This is not the first time in history this has happened. It’s because of rebellion against God. He calls it SIN.

When things get out of balance…

Even many religions are out of balance. In some Middle Eastern countries women are treated worse than dogs. They have no human rights! Their men have forgotten the joys of family where the fathers lead, provide for and protect their wives and children. These women feel like captives. They feel helpless and powerless. When the women are unhappy the home is unhappy.

Some sacrifice their lives for the cause of their religion. Some even blow up their children in their believed sacrifice to god.

On the other hand, in many free countries some women have gone way beyond equal rights and have discarded the essence of femininity seeking to be masculine. They are angry, rebellious and hardened. They have forgotten the joys of nurturing and caring for their families. Inside they are confused and miserable. Many have been raised without the knowledge of God and what He preserved in His Word, the Holy Bible.

When things are out of balance with rebellion and confusion the results are not pleasant!

People fight for the right to marry someone of the same sex. God forbids this behavior! He calls it an abomination! Even some churches are embracing this terrible error!
Rioting is another symptom of society being out of balance. Only following God’s plan for mankind can bring balance.

Women have forgotten that they were created to be helpers, nurturers and comforters. There is great contentment and joy in the natural roles given by God! Not that there won’t be trials and problems, but an underlying peace during the storms of life. Only God can give this – But you must accept Him!

In contrast, when things are balanced there is peace and contentment.

Loving families produce kind, compassionate and loving offspring.
Children need security, love and training.

Men have forgotten that they were created to be leaders, protectors and providers.

When family roles are in balance there is harmony! When hard times come you have family to provide comfort, support and love! God’s way is always the best!

There is an underlying evil plot to destroy the family unit and to create disharmony and friction within families. The evil one behind this is the age old enemy of Almighty God, Satan.

We need to return to the basics taught in God’s word; the Holy Bible!

Men, lead, protect and provide – but don’t be a tyrant! Don’t abuse your position of head of household! Love your wives! Listen to their views and their wisdom! Make them happy! In turn they will make you happy! Wives, submit to your husband’s final decisions. Respect your husbands as head of the home! Children obey your parents!

HOW DO WE FIND BALANCE?

FIRST STEPS TO FINDING BALANCE:
Look at the Holy Bible.

  1. Know that you are a sinner.
Romans 3:10 As it is written there is none righteous, no, not one
Romans 3:24 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
  2. Know the result of being a sinner
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Revelation 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
  3. Know the remedy for being a sinner.
John 3:16, 17 “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”
  4. Know how to apply the remedy for being a sinner.
Romans 10:9,10 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved
For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:13 “FOR WHOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.”

If you find yourself seeking for a way to overcome your own failures and sinfulness, God is working in your heart to bring you to Him. Don’t put Him off! Look at His Holy Bible. His instruction manual for life. He left us His word as a guide. The answers you seek are there!

If you have called upon Almighty God to forgive you for your sins and if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and his sacrifice on the cross for your sins – ask Him to take over your life and He will! If you do this and really mean it you will be saved! He promised in His word!

Look for a Bible believing and Bible preaching church where you can learn and grow spiritually!

Avoid any church that says you have to do something beside call upon the name of the Lord and accept Him as your Savior to be saved. Any church that says you have to follow their rules and rituals to be saved is false!!!

Baptism does not save you! (Baptism is an outward act of obedience to God picturing your death to sin and resurrection to new life in Christ.) When you call upon Jesus for salvation you do need to follow him in baptism but that has nothing to do with your salvation. (The thief on the cross next to Jesus could not get baptized, yet Jesus promised him he would be with Him in paradise.)

No good works or deeds can save us! Isaiah 64:6 says all our righteousness is like filthy rags to God. We are fallen creatures. God HATES sin! Only Jesus can cleanse away our sin.

No church can save us. No priest, rabbi or minister is perfect before God. Only Jesus Christ was and is and will always be perfect.

I hope you will call upon Him for salvation today. Even this very instant!

A Christmas Memory

It was Christmas time in 1987 and my husband came home with terrible news. He was being laid off without pay. He was completely downcast and sick with worry. I reminded him that God had brought us through such a layoff before and He would again. He sadly reminded me that he had nothing to buy our 6 small children Christmas gifts.

As I lay in bed that night I wondered what we had that we could use for Christmas. I remembered buying up some small farm and zoo animals for very little when a nearby department store went out of business. I had hidden them away to use as small gifts when ever I needed them. I said to my husband, “I have those little farm and zoo animals in the closet. What if we make wooden barns and a wooden zoo and put those animals in them?” He seemed unsure, but I persisted. “Let’s do what we CAN do and not worry about what we can’t”.

The next day I drew up some pencil drawings to use as patterns for the barns. I showed them to my husband and he seemed to get a little inspired. He went to work cutting out the wooden pieces from scrap wood. I counted out our change and bought bright paints to paint them with. He used his creativity to create and paint the zoo. He painted a pond and grass on the wood and glued little plastic trees down onto it.

We had a two year old and I knew he would love wooden blocks to play with. I asked my neighbor if he had any small scraps of 2 x 4s that I could have. He gave me enough to make 52 little blocks. I sanded them all by hand and then painted them bright primary colors.

We used Christmas gift money from my in-laws to buy our oldest a little microscope and our youngest a little doll, but we had two beautiful home-made barns, a zoo, and 52 bright colored blocks for four of the children. How they loved those gifts! They are grown now and have children of their own, but they say that was their favorite Christmas. They truly loved those gifts.

Best Cell Phone Camera vs Full Frame DSLR

I absolutely love having a good camera with me all the time in my cell phone! I love being able to capture “moments” that I couldn’t capture otherwise. There is definitely a difference between these daily casual use cameras on our phones and the crisp beautiful photos taken with a professional camera.

Why I Love Summer!

I have always loved summer more than any other season. Days are bright, filled with sunshine lasting long enough to enjoy picnics, cookouts and woodland hikes. The leaves are green and healthy looking, and the birds sing gleefully. The roses and other beautiful flowers bloom and decorate the world with brilliant happy colors, feeding the butterflies and bees with nectar as the bees and butterflies pollinate for next year’s flowers. The sun shines brightly until just in time to retire for the night after activity filled days.

School is out and children fill homes that were silent and dull with sounds of both joy and calamity. Life! Summer signifies life, health and happiness to me.

Fall brings beautiful colors, but also is a harbinger of winter. Cool air and school busses were what I always dreaded most. The beautiful green leaves give way to nutrient starved dying leaves that fall to the ground in dead crunchy clusters. In my young adult years, ugly yellow school busses swept away my children leaving my house empty, lonely and boring. It’s time to get back to work. Buckle down. Settle in. Endure.

As fall gives way to the cold barren days of winter, heating bills rise, and driving becomes treacherous, as snow covers roads making travel difficult and dangerous. Days are short and nights long as the naked trees like skeletons scraping the sky as they stoically endure, awaiting the warm breath of spring.

All seasons have their positives and negatives, but in my eyes, summer has always been the season of fun. Winter has always been the season of endurance and hibernation. Christmas is the bright spot of winter, but it ends just as the drudgery of winter fully takes hold.

As I contemplate the seasons, I recognize that without the nakedness of trees and frozenness of winter we would not have such appreciation for spring and summer.

Who can deny the joy of seeing the first crocus flowers poking their heads out of the frosty thawing ground? As the tulips and daffodils rise and the days grow longer the joy of new life pervades and our appreciation for life is freshly renewed.

Time Capsule View of Reality

  • God made the angels in His heaven for His purpose. (Col 1:16)
  • God created everything everywhere. He made the world and all life in it. (Genesis 1)
  • God made us in His image. (Genesis 2)
  • The anointed cherub named Lucifer, whom we also know as Satan, rebelled against God when he said he would ascend to heaven and raise his throne above the stars of God. He believed in his rebellion. (Ezekiel 28:14-19)
  • Satan deceived Eve and tempted Adam to disobey God, and they freely chose to eat the forbidden fruit which caused the fall of man and the curse of the earth. (Genesis 3)
  • Since man’s fall from innocence, we have all inherited the nature to sin, please ourselves and fulfill our appetites even if it is against God’s laws. (Romans 5:12)
  • God will not allow sin into His heaven. Hell is a real place and it is where people will go if they die in their sins. One sin is enough to bar someone from heaven. Revelation 20:10-15
  • God sent His own son to rescue us. (Romans 5:8-10)
  • We need only accept His gift and believe in Jesus’s sacrifice for our sins to be given a new nature, and eternal life in God’s heaven. (Romans 10:13)
  • God gives each true believer His Holy Spirit who gives the power to overcome our sinful nature. (John 16) (Galatians 5:16)
  • God gave us a guidebook or instruction manual for life in the preserved writings of the Holy Bible. It is by following the instructions in our guidebook we can be awakened to the truth.

Are you “Woke” or “Awakened”?

“Woke” became a popular word meaning “be aware of injustice by the powers that be”. It began as a battle cry against racism.

Racism is evil. In the Bible, in the book of James chapter 2:9 it says showing partiality is sin. This country has a shameful past of slavery, segregation, and racism. Today our country has mostly grown to accept all people as equals. Admittedly, there are pockets of racist groups throughout the nation, but discrimination laws are in place and socially people are less discriminating than in years past. White Supremacists are despised by most people as are other racist groups.

There are some who are stirring up hate and shaming the descendants of those who embraced the wickedness of slavery, oppression, and segregation. It is never right to repay evil with evil! We are to overcome evil with good. Turning the tables or reversing the prejudice is not right!  (Romans 12:17, 21) Children should not pay for the sins of their parents (Ezekiel 18:20).

Christians are certainly without any excuse for showing preference to people of their own skin color. We are really all one race. We are all the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve. Paul wrote to the church at Galatia: “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28

It is time for people to stop excusing bad behavior and blaming all of their problems on others. Everyone needs to step up and take responsibility for their own actions!

Woke” has now expanded to become a battle cry for those who embrace homosexuality. These militant rebels are revolting against God’s creation of the traditional family. They believe they are “woke” when they have been poisoned by corruption. The truth is they have not been “woke” but have been blinded.
2Co 4:3  But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,

2Co 4:4  whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

  • 1Co 15:34  Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.
  • Rom 13:11  And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

Balance

It’s very hard to find balanced information these days. When one side is forced on us and all other views are silenced I begin to sense that something isn’t quite right. I don’t jump on conspiracy theories and I truly believe that most of them are just nuts. I do wonder about this COVID stuff though. Why is the experimental gene therapy “vaccine” being forced on everyone when no other vaccine is? I’ve never been coerced into getting a flu shot. There has never been a nation-wide flu shot mandate. Something just seems very “off” here.

The biggest smoking gun is how any doctor or scientist who disagrees with the experimental gene therapy vaccines is ridiculed and silenced by being banned from social media such as Twitter and Facebook. When only one side is allowed to be shared it seems like a social engineering conspiracy.

I am not saying that COVID is not dangerous. It is dangerous to many people who have co-morbidities. Flu is also dangerous for the elderly and other immune-compromised people. What I am saying is that it is very strange how people are being coerced and forced to take a new treatment that was previously untested making millions of people Big Pharma’s test subjects and not making Big Pharma liable for damages to the masses.
