It will be five years ago this coming Christmas that I got the best winter coat I have ever had. It was a nice black leather hooded jacket from Wilson’s Leather. It was a treasure. I treated it with water repellant leather treatment when I first got it, and at the end of every winter. I cleaned it with leather cleaning lotion frequently. I took good care of it because it had a lot of sentimental value.
Christmases in a large family are always so much fun! Even when times are rough and money is tight we all find a way to get a little something for everyone. Christmas 2003 was exceptional for me. My dad was still alive. He made Christmas fantastic every year! The gifts were handed out and eager children tore through wrapping paper in an excited frenzy. After everyone had a turn opening gifts, I was presented with a big box from everyone to open. It was full of tissue paper and under that was a big bag of pistachio nuts. I laughed and held it up for everyone to see then saw something taped on the back… It was a $200.00 gift certificate for Wilson’s Leather at the mall. They wanted me to pick out my own leather jacket. 🙂 I was so shocked I cried. It is a wonderful memory.
My Leather jacket was stolen, from me yesterday. It is heart breaking. After five years of enjoyment it was taken from me. I still have the memory though and it still makes me smile. No one can take that from me.
