Ike left his mark here in N.E. Ohio

A huge tree branch fell on mine and Joe’s cars last night as the high winds and rain moved over Northeast Ohio. My kid’s school is closed today (among hundreds of Ohio schools) due to power outages and water problems. My car suffered only minor scratches, and Joe’s was scratched some. We were more fortunate than many in the area. The newscaster said that this was the closest thing to a tropical storm that we would ever experience in our part of the country. The damage is showing on all the local TV network news programs. They say the power outages and wind damages are Ohio’s worst ever. Govenor Strickland declared a state of emergency.

Joanna and Jessica are safe and snug at P.C.C.. They both worked hard and earned their own tuition. Jess got some scholarship money for her perfect 4.0 GPA all four years of high school. I am very proud of both of them! Mike drove them down and got out of there just in time to beat the mad exodus of people fleeing the hurricane.
